FAQ

Q. do you train with treats?

A. Yes, if the dog finds treats motivating. If the dog doesn’t find treats motivating, we will look at using other reward methods such as toys (play) or praise.

Q. do you use prong collars and shock collars?

A. Yes, if the dog is an appropriate candidate for those tools AND if the owner is comfortable using those tools. Every dog and client is different which is why we are able to train on slip leashes, martingales, front-clip harnesses, Starmark collars, electronic collars and prong collars.

Q. What payments do you accept?

A. We can accept cash, credit card, check or direct banking payment via Quickbooks.

Q. How much training per day do your stay and trains get?

A. 2-3 hours per dog, per day. This is why we only take 2 Stay and Trains at a time.

Q. is training equipment included?

A. For our In-Home Private Lessons Package, we include a slip collar/slip leash. For our Introductory Stay and Train, we include a slip collar/slip leash. For our Priority and Mastery Stay and Trains, we include all necessary training equipment.

Q. how often do you update clients during a stay and train?

A. In most cases, clients will receive daily picture/video updates during their dog’s Stay and Train. However, there may be times where we are unable to update one day due to the training schedule (if this happens, its most likely a Thursday or Sunday)

Q. do you have training contracts for clients to sign?

A. Yes, every Private Lesson client and every Stay and Train client signs a contract for us to work together. These contracts are standard operating procedure in our industry and protect Priority Canine Training, LLC.
