Get Out There!
There's no better way to help advance your dog’s obedience than going out in public! Get out there and work your dog around real-life distractions.
In my experience, many people shy away from bringing their dog out in public because they are scared of being embarrassed. They are so scared that their dog will make a mistake that they refuse to allow their dog to prove them wrong. The bottom line is this: if you never give your dog the opportunity to succeed, he or she never will.
This is why I recently started our Pack Walk Program so that clients can give their dogs the opportunity to learn in real life scenarios. It’s a fun outing for both humans and canines, but more importantly it is a learning opportunity for both parties. The more we work with our dogs, the more we learn about our dogs and the more our dogs’ learn about us.
If you are interested in getting involved in our Pack Walk Program, please reach out and we can get you on our roster. Or next Pack Walk will be Saturday, October 12th at 9am and costs $20. We will be meeting at The Hill Country Galleria. Thanks!
